A bridge can replace one or more missing teeth where the neighbouring teeth are suitable to support it. It is fixed, durable and highly aesthetic.

How are crowns and bridges made?
Following careful planning, the affected teeth are prepared under local anaesthesia. Precision impressions are taken of the prepared teeth, surrounding tissues and opposing teeth. Our dental technicians require approximately five to eight working days to produce the restoration, during which the teeth are protected with a temporary restoration.
Larger restorations may require several trial fittings, as precise fit is essential to the longevity of both the teeth and the restoration. The final crowns or bridges are then bonded securely to the teeth.
Types of crowns and bridges
Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns and bridges
These restorations have a strong metal-alloy framework covered with porcelain for a lifelike appearance. They are durable and generally require a smaller financial investment than metal-free fixed restorations. If the gum recedes, however, the edge of the metal framework may become visible as a thin grey line, so metal-free options are often preferred in the aesthetic zone. Rarely, metals may cause an allergic reaction in sensitive patients.
Zirconia crowns and bridges
The white zirconia framework avoids many of the aesthetic compromises associated with metal. Its light-transmitting properties resemble those of natural teeth, making it particularly suitable for the front region. Zirconia restorations are metal-free, accurately produced using digital technology and available in variants designed to withstand the effects of tooth grinding.

A fogcsikorgatás jelentős terhelést róhat a fogakra és a fogpótlásokra. Ilyen esetekben az anyagválasztás és a fogpótlás kialakítása különösen fontos. Megfelelő indikáció esetén nagy szilárdságú cirkónium-alapú megoldások is alkalmazhatók, a páciens egyéni harapási viszonyainak és terhelésének figyelembevételével.
E.max crowns
E.max crowns are milled from a homogeneous block of lithium disilicate rather than using a separate framework and ceramic veneer. Their natural translucency provides outstanding aesthetics. They are most commonly used for single crowns and have more limited indications for bridgework.
