Same-Day Teeth – NeoArch®

NeoArch® offers a modern treatment option for patients with a complete arch of missing teeth or severely compromised dentition. Where clinical conditions allow, patients can receive a fixed temporary restoration on the day of implant surgery, helping restore their smile, confidence and chewing function without a prolonged toothless period.

NeoArch® uses a dedicated approach to implant positioning. Angled implants can often make optimal use of the available bone and may reduce or, in some cases, avoid the need for bone grafting. This can mean a shorter treatment period, fewer surgical procedures and faster rehabilitation.

If you are looking for a fast, advanced and durable solution for restoring a complete arch of teeth, NeoArch® may be a suitable option following a detailed clinical assessment.

The NeoArch® treatment process

Assessment of the face and oral environment

We take digital photographs of the face and impressions of the jaws. Digital scans of the mouth and face are also recorded to preserve the initial bite position and create the models required for further planning.

Available bone volume

A three-dimensional CBCT scan of the jaws provides detailed information about the condition and volume of the bone. It allows the specialist to select the appropriate implants and determine their position and angulation.

Designing the restoration

Using the findings above, we plan the position of the teeth according to aesthetic and surgical principles. Facial structure, the contours of the gums and numerous other factors are considered to create a restoration that looks natural, feels comfortable and resembles the sensation of natural teeth.

The day of surgery

During the surgical stage, any teeth that cannot be preserved are removed and the required number of implants are placed. Patients may choose intravenous conscious sedation administered by our anaesthesiology team to reduce anxiety and stress.

Once the implants are in position, impressions are taken so that our dental technicians can begin producing the restoration. During this time, patients can relax and have a light lunch in our dedicated recovery room.

Several short trial fittings may be carried out during the afternoon. In the early evening, the fixed acrylic temporary restoration, reinforced with a metal framework, is fitted. Although its appearance will generally represent a major improvement on the starting condition, a softer diet is recommended during the first three to four months to protect the healing implants and the temporary material.

Final restoration

Approximately four months are generally allowed for safe bone healing and long-term implant stability. At the end of this period, the contacts of the temporary acrylic restoration can be adjusted or the temporary restoration can be replaced with a definitive one.

If the temporary restoration is retained, it can be modified, extended and adjusted to establish full contact with the opposing teeth and increase chewing capacity. More frequent maintenance and review appointments may be recommended if it is worn for longer than initially planned.

Two principal options are available for the final restoration:

  • a metal framework supporting individual high-quality, wear-resistant acrylic teeth; or
  • a metal-free zirconia restoration with excellent wear resistance and light-transmitting properties that closely resemble natural teeth.

Once the final bridge has been fitted, the planned treatment sequence is complete and you can enjoy your new smile and rediscover foods you may have avoided for a long time.
